File Compressor — Tips & FAQ

Use WEBP for web images

Enable "Convert to WEBP" for ~30% smaller files than JPG or PNG — ideal for website images and web app assets.

Choose Medium compression

Medium compression gives the best balance of file size and visual quality for most use cases like social media and email.

Compress multiple files at once

You can drag and drop multiple images at once — the tool processes them in parallel and lets you download all results with one click.

The compressor supports JPG, PNG, and WEBP files. Each file can be up to 50 MB. SVG and GIF are not supported as they use vector or animation formats.
No — all compression happens entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Your files never leave your device.
If the original image is already heavily compressed (e.g. a small JPG), re-compressing it at the same quality level can sometimes slightly increase file size. Try High compression level in that case.
High compression reduces quality to 75% and caps image dimensions at 1920px wide. It produces the smallest files but with some visible quality reduction — best for thumbnails and previews.
